Customer Review: Poor quality brush
I wish I could give this brush a good rating, but unfortunately I can't. I have been using Bare Escentuals makeup for about 6 years now and have never had much luck with their brushes. This one is the worst. I've had it less than a year and it is already unusable. The quality is just really poor. The bristles break and fall out and are left all over your face. Using mineral make-up puts a lot of wear and tear on a brush, but it should hold up better than this one. I'm going out today to buy a Bobbi Brown brush...I have one of her blush brushes I bought at least 5 years ago and it is still in excellent condition.

Sometimes I believe the Bare Minerals makeup works so well because of the brushes - that is especially true with this brush. I use it with the foundation and/or bisque, depending on the amount of coverage needed for the day. If you ever experience blemishes of any type, this is a "must have" brush.

Customer Review: Not as sparkly as I'd hoped
I have been a Bare Minerals addict for over five years now--it is all I ever wear. There have been very few products of theirs that have failed to completely thrill me, and I am disappointed to report that this is one of them. When I saw this kit in the Bare Escentuals Boutique, I knew I had to have it. The eye colors looked so sparkly, it was as if they had glitter in them. As a Middle Eastern dancer, I often add glitter to my eye makeup looks for performances, and I was hoping that buy getting this kit, I could eliminate that extra step. Unfortunately, the colors were not as sparkly on my eye as they were in the jar. Unless you're about six inches away from the person wearing these colors, they look pretty much the same as Bare Minerals' "Meet the Stones" wearable eye kit, which I already have. I think you'd have to apply a very thick layer of powder to get as much sparkle as I would have liked, and then it'd probably look like I was running around with black eyes. The product description describes the Black Leather Liner Shadow as "glistening blackest black," but I found that it was neither "glistening" nor "blackest black." I gave up on it and used Bare Minerals' "Onyx" black liner shadow instead. For a beautiful and dramatic nighttime look, I much prefer Bare Minerals' "Smoky V" eye kit. The purplish hues of those smoky colors are a lot less harsh. They're not sparkly, sadly, but I've always achieved good results with that kit, and the colors work equally well for day or nighttime looks. The Rocker Eye kit, on the other hand, I'd only ever wear for dance performance, Halloween, or perhaps a special night out on the town. If you're set on a grayish smoky eye, I'd recommend Bare Minerals' "Meet the Stones" wearable eye kit. You get pretty much the same three colors as in the Rocker Eye kit (they're just not sparkly in the jar, but the finished look is about the same), but the "Stones" kit is cheaper and the jars contain twice as much powder.
Customer Review: Good value, tough to master
I am very good at my day time eye makeup look, and wanted some glam and glimmer for a night time look. The eyeliner is tricky, but I think I will eventually get the hang of it. Even trying to use a very light hand I wound up with WAY too much black eye makeup on (it wasn't pretty). In all fairness, dark makeup is what one should expect from a "Rocker" Eye kit. Maybe I just wasn't ready for that much glam.

i'll never go back to drugstore smudge/sponge brushes again! anyone who loves doing make up needs a real brush for their eyeshadow. it keeps you from piling on the color, which leads to creases and can make you look clownish. get one of these, get an angled brush, and get a liner brush. you'll be set.

Customer Review: A Great Way To Experiment
I recently returned to using Bare Minerals after using M-A-C. I was somewhat skeptical about the kit because it included colors that I would not usually select for myself. But, I gave it a shot and I really love it! My foundation is Warm Deep and the Crushed Velvet blush looks great with my skin tone. The Brilliant and Spark eye colors were definitely something that I would have declined. But, they really do enhance my eyes. I love the Brandi Buxom lip gloss. But, I found it applied more easily if I prepared my lips with a lip balm (Burt's Bee's is my favorite)before hand. And, I am always thrilled that the brushes are included in the kit. At times, those alone are worth the proce of admission! If you are interested, GET THE KIT ASAP. A sales clerk told me that these will only be available for a limited time. So, when they are gone, they are gone! They MIGHT be back in January of next year! This is a great way to try something new without breaking the bank.

these are my favorite glosses.usually i avoid buying sets of glosses because i will like 1 or 2 and dislike the others. everyone of these are so pretty. they are soft and have a shine... no glitter look...i would say soft shimmer. can wear alone or many times i wear with a matte pencil, fill in lips then put gloss over that. i like so much i bought a set for my adult daughters for xmas and came back and ordered another set for myself. afraid these will sell out so wanted to have a backup set.loveeee

I will admit to being a Bare Minerals Devotee and owning a great many colors of eyeshadows but this kit is a stand out. The colors are sheer and glowing. Red Velvet is especially wonderful. It is not everyday that you find an eyeshadow color that is instantly flattering and makes you feel beautifully daring. Having played with my set(I am a brunette with hazel eyes) I sent it to both my friends(redhead with green eyes and a fair skinned brunette/dark eyes)knowing that the eyeshadows would look beautiful on them as well. The pots a little (quarter sized)but a little goes a long way. A MUST BUY!!
